The National Weather Service said South Jersey will have a threat of minor flooding through 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8. A coastal flood advisory was issued for Tuesday, Feb. 6 in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean, and Salem counties.

Minor flooding is forecasted during morning high tides in Atlantic City, Great Egg Harbor Bay at Ocean City, Cape May Harbor, and Barnegat Harbor.

"While the weather will remain tranquil through the remainder of the week, folks along the coast and tidal waterways will need to be alert for areas of minor coastal flooding and potential road closures," the NWS posted on Facebook on Monday, Feb. 5. "Persistent northeast wind and swells, and a king tide approaching this weekend will be to blame for this coastal flooding event."

The NWS also said minor flooding was forecasted along the Delaware River in Philadelphia, Burlington, and Reedy Point, Delaware. Minor flooding was also expected along the Delaware Bay coast and on the Maurice River in Bivalve.

Spotty minor flooding was also possible along the coast in Middlesex and Monmouth counties. The NWS also warned about the threat of minor flooding for the entire Delaware coast and parts of the Maryland eastern shore.

Flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal communities and along inland tidal waterways, according to the NWS. Some roads may need to be partially or completely closed.

Forecasters said you should never drive through floodwater and you should take the necessary steps to protect flood-prone property.
